IT solutions for industry and manufacturing

Industrial companies run production systems (PLCs, SCADA, sensors) alongside management systems (ERP, CMMS, quality) and office tools. Moving information between these worlds reliably and securely is at the heart of the projects we deliver for industry.

Agencei builds custom business applications (production tracking, traceability, maintenance, quality, logistics), collects and exploits data from connected equipment, and integrates these tools with the ERP and existing software. We also work on infrastructure: on-premise servers, hybrid cloud, industrial networks and backups.

We know a workshop does not stop for an update and that some machines run on old software. Our solutions account for these constraints: offline operation, compatibility with existing systems, scheduled deployments and documentation for maintenance teams.

Industry challenges

OT and IT integration

PLCs, SCADA systems and sensors use industrial protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT) and live in isolated networks. Connecting them to the information system requires secure gateways and an understanding of both worlds.

Connecting the ERP and production tools

Work orders, stock, bills of materials, production times: this data must flow between the ERP (SAP, Sage, Odoo, Microsoft Dynamics) and shop-floor applications without re-entry or discrepancies.

Traceability and quality requirements

ISO standards, customer requirements, batch recalls: you need to know which component went into which product, when and by whom, with data that is retained and usable.

High-volume IoT data

Thousands of readings per minute require suitable collection, storage (time series) and visualisation pipelines, with useful alerts rather than noise.

Applications usable on the shop floor

Touch screens, gloves, noisy environments, patchy Wi-Fi: interfaces must be simple, fast and work offline.

Industrial systems security

Old, unpatched equipment exposed by connections added over time: industrial cybersecurity calls for specific segmentation and monitoring.

How we respond

Secure OT/IT gateways

Machine data collection via OPC UA, Modbus or MQTT, gateways in a demilitarised zone, forwarding to a time-series database and exposure through an API to the rest of the information system.

Custom business applications

Production tracking, traceability, CMMS, quality control, warehouse management: web and mobile applications designed with operators, in Java/Spring Boot, Node.js, React or React Native.

Reliable ERP connectors

Two-way integration with your ERP through APIs, database access or file exchanges, with logging, error handling and automated reconciliation.

Dashboards and alerts

Real-time visualisation of production indicators (OEE, downtime, scrap), history and targeted alerts on the thresholds that matter.

Offline operation and controlled deployment

Applications that keep working without a network and resynchronise later, deployments scheduled with production teams and documentation for maintenance.

Hybrid infrastructure

On-premise servers for critical functions, cloud for analysis and backup, segmented network and unified supervision.

Typical projects

  • Production tracking and batch traceability application
  • Machine data collection (OPC UA, MQTT) and production dashboards
  • Connector between the ERP and shop-floor applications
  • Offline-capable mobile maintenance app (CMMS)
  • Redesign of a business tool developed in-house ten years ago
  • Multi-site supervision platform with alerts
  • Migration of on-premise servers to a hybrid infrastructure

Frequently asked questions

Can you retrieve data from our machines?

In most cases, yes. Recent PLCs and SCADA systems expose OPC UA or MQTT; older ones go through Modbus, files or hardware gateways. We start with an inventory of the equipment and available protocols.

How do you integrate an ERP such as SAP or Sage?

Through the official APIs or connectors when they exist, otherwise through controlled database access or scheduled file exchanges. Every flow is logged and has a recovery mechanism in case of error.

Our workshops have unreliable Wi-Fi: is that a problem?

No, as long as it is planned for. We build applications that work offline, store entries locally and synchronise as soon as the network returns, with conflict handling.

Can you take over an old business application?

Yes. We audit the existing system, secure what can be secured and propose a progressive redesign, module by module, to avoid a hard cutover that would disrupt production.

Cloud or on-premise servers for an industrial site?

Often both: on-premise for what must keep running without an internet connection, cloud for analysis, history and backups. We design the hybrid architecture around your latency and availability constraints.
